Geraint grew up in coal mining communities in South Wales and Yorkshire where, despite the soot and coal dust, he found beauty in the landscape. Surrounded by what he believes is some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain, Geraint calls this time in his life "idyllic" and spent his childhood exploring with his new movie camera and developing a tastefor still photography. He moved to Los Angeles in 1978, where he went to college and worked as a freelance photographer. When he tired of the hustle and confinement of the city, he relocated to Taos, New Mexico, where he raises his family, breathes mountain air and meanders through the wide-open spaces.
